Our Story

Peak is a family owned business and people are at the very core of our business and unique product offering. As such, the importance we place on our people is reflected in the on-going commitments to staff development and training. This ensures that we continually improve our organisational capabilities, engineering, manufacturing and field services. Our sales and project management teams are dedicated specialists in delivering effective gas generation solutions to our customers and each generator is designed, assembled, tested and maintained by our highly experienced and qualified team of engineers – all delivered by over 350 dedicated employees worldwide.

Our Mission, Values, Vision, Products & Services are structured around our Colleagues, Customers and Partners. While our approach and atmosphere within the business is fun, friendly and informal, we are all passionate about what we do and place a very high importance upon maintaining a high degree of professional work ethic. We operate in an industry where competition is intense – a fast moving market environment that pushes and drives our talents to their very best. We pride ourselves on the personable relationships we have with our customers and this is testimony to why they continue to do business with us.

Our business initially established itself as distributor of air compressors.

Peak was established to manufacture gas generators & launched the NM30LA – the founding product of the business and predecessor to our current product series.

Founder and Managing Director, Robin MacGeachy, fully acquires Peak with the vision of becoming a global leader in the gas generator market.

Peak embarked on sustained a growth phase, transitioning from < 50 employees to > 300 by 2014. Also we established our first regional international operations by establishing Peak North America in Billerica, Massachusetts and entered the Indian market, establishing Peak India, closely flowed by opening our Hyderabad office in 2009.

Our most successful product platform to date was launched. The Genius series continues to define our fundamental technology offering of robust, self-contained and cost effective gas generator systems for laboratories.

Peak established its 1st Peak office in Shanghai, bringing us closer to the Chinese market and increasing our global reach. Also our R&D drive led to opportunities to target new markets, with dedicated product solutions for Gas Chromatography (Precision) and larger scale, industrial manufacturing & processing applications (the i-Flow nitrogen generator).

Peak expanded further and upgraded its facilities in UK to meet increasing sales & service demands from our now firmly established, global marketplace. Also Peak won an unprecedented 4th Queen’s Award, awarded for excellence in export and innovation – they are the highest official accolade in British business.

With 16 dedicated offices globally and trained Peak service engineers in over 20 countries, Peak’s continued focus has been to be a leading global partner for our customers globally and locally. In 2016 we raised the bar further by winning a 5th Queen’s Award and continue to consolidate our position as market leaders in gas generation systems, experiencing strong growth in both Scientific & Industrial marketplaces.

We believe our first responsibility is to our customers who use our products and services. In meeting their needs everything we do must be of the highest quality with exceptional customer service. We must constantly strive to make efficiencies in everything we do, thereby reducing our costs to maintain reasonable prices for our customers. Every customer’s order must be serviced promptly and accurately. Our distributors, partners and suppliers must have an opportunity to make a fair profit.

Our second responsibility is to our colleagues – the men and women who work with us throughout the world. Everyone must be respected as an individual. We must respect their dignity and recognize their merit. They must have a sense of security in their jobs. Compensation must be fair and adequate and working conditions clean, orderly and safe. Our final responsibility is to ourselves, the stakeholders. Our business must make a sound profit. We must experiment with new ideas and drive our capabilities forwards. Research must carry on, with innovative programs developed and mistakes financed. New equipment must be purchased, new facilities provided and new products and services launched – to do all this requires on-going investment but reserves must be created to provide for adverse times.
